Market your site using Social Media

Relationship marketing is about focusing more on who YOU are, rather than pushing your ads to people. In today's digital age, people are bombarded by ads from every direction. They have in a short period of time learnt to tune out all of the advertising they receive. This does make it a challenge to market, given that traditional marketing comes from ads. But if people aren't looking at them, then what worth are they?

It is now more about branding you as someone who people want to deal with, first and foremost. Gone are the days of just telling people about what you are selling. People now want to know who they are dealing with, have trust built, and almost become friends before they will give you the time of day for you to sell your products and services. People have just had enough of everyone only thinking of themselves, and rightfully so. Would you want to do business with someone you don't know? Use the social networks to help.

In this lesson, you are going to establish your online identity and begin your marketing campaign. At this stage, you are doing nothing more than branding yourself, and setup your profiles to attract people to you. This is done through attraction marketing, where your story is the most important asset you have. Remember, people want to deal with real people. They will make friends, establish a relationship with you, and after a bit of trust has been established, will listen to you about your program.

To do this, in this Lesson you will be signing up for 3 main services. These are social networks that, when used together, create one of the most powerful online marketing strategies available on the internet. And this is only the beginning! These services when used in a particular manner create a funnel to you, and therefore your opportunities. And these people will come back to you again and again, as long as you remain credible, are trustworthy, and are generally interested in their wellfare rather than your own.

This is a new era for internet marketing. It is based on people helping people. Not only will you be able to sleep at night, and discover a lot of fantastic relationships along the way, you will also make a LOT more money than you would have ever made just by selling your product or service. Not only will these people buy from you, but they will return the favor! This is truly a wonderful and exciting feeling knowing that everything you have done for someone else comes back to you in more ways than you can imagine. You will discover people along the way that will help you in all kinds of ways, just like your friends that you have now do. Isn't that what life is all about anyways?

Step 1: Setup a Facebook Account

Time: 1/2 hour

Facebook will be your primary tool for communicating with people (using messages). Setup your facebook profile to contain as much information about yourself as you possibly can. Show people who you are! What are you interested in? What kind of music do you like? Put as much information as you can to attract people that have something in common with you. Also make sure you put in a great picture of yourself for your picture profile. Have some home videos? Put them up! Pictures? Music? The more the better. The more interesting you are, the more followers you will have.

We will show you more with facebook as we work through the program, however for now, just focus on making your profile interesting. Put up your links to your blog and your website as well! Be sure to check out our Facebook page and become a fan!

Step 2: Setup a Twitter Account

Time: 1/2 hour

Now things are getting interesting. You will be using Twitter to feed traffic to your blog and your facebook profile. Add a picture, your 140 character bio (more keywords the better), and your blog as your site. Also, make sure you change your background. You can either choose one of the twitter standard backgrounds, or load any image you want. What is best is to upload a background image that contains a larger bio about you, and links to your Facebook account. For now, we will only be setting up the account. We will show you more about how to use Twitter a bit later in the program.

We will show you more with twitter as we work through the program, however for now, just focus on making your profile interesting. Put up your links to your blog and your website as well!

Step 3: Create a Linked In Account

Time: 10 minutes

Create your linked in account. Add your job history, what you are into to, your picture, etc. This is your "professional" network.

Now that you have created your online presence, the next lesson will be about establishing yourself as a leader. At this stage, you will start to get some followers, but you are not yet ready to market to everyone yet! If you do, send them a message, introduce yourself, start a conversation with them, and start building trust. Credibility will come in the next lesson; branding yourself as a leader.

Step 4: Create a Blog

Time: 1/2 hour

Before you can really market anything to anyone, they have to know a bit about you. Are you trustworthy, credible, knowledgeable, but more over, will you provide VALUE to them? To do this, it is important to have a blog. This will let you post blog pages that people can read, showing your thoughts about a particular topic. Write a few blog posts, relevant to your target audience, and your products and services. If you are quite knowledgeable about something, write some posts about that too. At this stage you are trying to show people what you are all about, and who you are. Don't try to sell them anything in your posts. A much friendlier way would be to create a post about the problems your product or services solve. At the start of the blog post, focus on the problem, the frustrations you or others you know might have had, and how your products and services can be used to solve their problems.
